TDI Sidemount Diver Course
The course teaches students how to use side-mounted primary cylinders as an alternative to back-mount. Side-mount configuration can be used by sport and technical divers alike. The course is a necessary preparation prior to technical or cave diving courses in side-mount configuration.
The TDI Sidemount Diver course focuses on the specific aspects of side-mount, such as different gas-management, equipment failures and problem solving.
Side-mount configuration is minimalistic and more streamlined. Also it is safer, since it provides true gas redundancy, but to fully enjoy it, you need solid basic skills (as you carry more gear) and clean, streamlined equipment set up.
The TDI Sidemount Diver course will reinforce fundamental skills such as breathing, buoyancy control, trim, body position and propulsion techniques as much as develop a deeper understanding of diving equipment and configuration. Also it will teach equipment do/doff sequences and water entry/exit protocols.
The Course is necessary prior to engage in a technical or cave diving course in side-mount configuration.
